    Prairie Mountain teachers met to share ideas on effective methods of instruction.

    Bethel’s teachers are back in the classroom preparing for the 2011-12 school year.

    The licensed staff is taking part in Inservice Week, which includes a wide variety of training sessions.

    They are making plans with teaching partners, meeting about incoming students, and sharing ideas to make their instruction even better.

  • Student Lunch Prices To Increase 10¢

    Bethel has earned a reputation for serving affordable school meals that feature locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables.

    Facing a requirement by the federal government, lunch prices at all Bethel schools will increase by 10¢ in the coming school year.

    The price hike is the smallest Bethel could institute and still meet the federal mandate. It is the first across the board lunch price increase in Bethel School District since 2001.

  • Duck Visit Concludes Summer School

    Hugs and high-fives kept the Oregon Duck busy at Meadow View School.

    It’s become something of a tradition at Bethel’s summer school; the Oregon Duck visited students on the last day of the summer session.

    Giving high fives, accepting hugs, doing pushups, and posing for pictures, the Duck was a star in each room that was visited.

    It’s the third consecutive year that the Oregon Duck’s appearance has marked the conclusion of Bethel’s summer school.

  • Volunteers Continue Willamette Pride Project

    Willamette High School's makeover is continuing with consistently strong volunteer support.

    Nearly 250 community members have pitched in this summer to help the Willamette High School building and grounds more accurately reflect the great things going on in its classrooms.
